My El Camino

I'd been looking for some time for a utility companion to my 67 Super Sport Coupe and this El Camino caught my eye at the Midwest Chevelle Regional car show in Overland Park, KS. in 2001. Car was purchased shortly thereafter in September.

Your basic Marina Blue Custom El Camino with the obligatory Camaro/Corvette style rally wheels.

A nice surprise to discover the Powerglide 2-speed automatic had been replaced with a more modern TH350 3-speed automatic and the front had been treated to power disc brakes as well. The original column shifter has been retained along with the power steering.

Although the original intake and carburetor had been replaced somewhere along the line, the engine is original to the car and had been rebuilt at least once in its life. The 327/275hp engine is bored .030 over and displaces 331 cubic inches.

Car now sports American Racing Outlaw I wheels and BF Goodrich T/A tires. Rear wheels are 15x8 w/235x60R15 tires and front wheels are 15x7 w/215x65R15 tires.
